Bob Cole gave an update about our upcoming Lake Weir Invitational and Harpoon Nationals Regatta on April 26 & 27, 2014. The location will be Carney Island Park this year instead of the Kiwanis Club due to a mistaken double booking by the Kiwanis Club. We have now booked pavilions at Carney Island for the Regatta headquarters and the Lake Weir Yacht Club for the banquet on Saturday night. Patti Moring will be catering the food. This change in venue will reduce the overall cost of the Regatta. We will plan to include the cost of the Carney Island entrance fee in the Regatta Registration Fee.
Several guests were introduced ~ thanks for joining us!
The February Buccaneer Night will be held at Little Joey’s in Summerfield on February 6, 2014 at 6:30 PM. Taverna Red has closed and will reopen soon as Francesco’s.
We will plan another Lake Harris Cruise on Saturday, February 15, 2014. We will launch at Venetian Cove in Leesburg at 8:30 AM and sail/cruise to the Lake Harris Hideaway Restaurant for lunch.
Our monthly Sunday Sailing @ The Point sail is scheduled for Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
The February OSC Meeting will be held at Art and Mai Twitchell’s home on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 6:30 PM.
The OSC Meeting was adjourned and the OBRS Meeting began. Steve Jaffess currently has the gavel. A discussion followed about the “duties” of the recipient of the gavel ~ we may be hearing from T.H.E. Admiral soon.
The OBRS Meeting was adjourned . . . and the Bonfire continued.
Respectfully Submitted,
